Bellingham Dances

A FREE upbeat, creative street dance class in Bellingham Gateway Youth and Community Centre.

Bellingham Dances is a street dance class for young people aged 12 – 18. This fun and energetic weekly class will provide a safe space for participants of all abilities to learn new street dance skills, keep active and create their own choreography.  We have regular performance opportunities.

Enrolment Information

 

Participants can enrol for Bellingham Dances online, over the phone or in person. The class is free to attend, please enrol in advance.

More dance classes for Children & Young People at our Laban Building in Deptford are also available to book.

Performances

Our participants perform to friends and family through in studio sharings and annual theatre/community performances. Our most recent performance was in the Youth Dance Platform at the Laban Theatre.

 


Access & Support Needs

 

Sessions are suitable for young people with moderate access and support needs such as autism, a learning disability and neurodiversity.

Please disclose information about access and support needs when you book a place through the enrolment form.  We may then contact you for further information, and implement reasonable adjustments as required.  This might include Assistant Support, use of communication tools, reducing the potential for sensory overload etc.

Our Dance Ability classes at the Laban Building is a dedicated space for disabled young people to dance together.  For information, please see Dance Ability: Carers & Dancers (5-8yrs) and Dance Ability: Independent Dancers (8-12yrs)

The venue is wheelchair accessible.
