Event details
Sunday Series is a programme of music and dance workshops for over 60s, made up of monthly workshops for older adults to enjoy song writing, creative dance, musical theatre and more. These fun and accessible workshops are led by professional dance and music artists, will cater for all mobilities and capabilities and no previous dance or movement experience is required. The Laban building is fully accessible and all workshops will offer a seated option. There will be two workshops each Sunday, one music and one dance. You can choose to book one or both.

Sunday 7 September
Music Workshop 10.30-12.00: Song writing with Aga Serugo Lugo. Work with a composer to write a song in a session! From the lyrics to the tune, you will craft a song and sing it together by the end of the workshop.
Dance Workshop 12.30-13.30: Contemporary Dance with Vivian Triant. Learn a section of repertoire from a professional contemporary dance work. Vivian’s workshop will include a warn-up followed by an opportunity to learn the choreography, which will have a focus on rhythm, emotion, connecting as a group and developing your own individual expression through movement. The workshop will be accessible for beginners and those with experience.
Sunday 5 October – Free for Silver Sunday
Music Workshop 10.30-12.00: Sing for Joy with Rob Gildon. Learn singing technique and performance skills from a professional opera singer and workshop leader. You will warm up your voices and learn popular songs to experience the joy of singing together.
Dance Workshop 12.30-13.30: Street Dance with Icy Ice. This will be a fun filled session to get you moving, playing music that will make you smile with feel good vibes. You’ll cover a combination of hip-hop grooves, contemporary flow, jazz technique, plus so much more.

Accessiblity & getting there
Sessions take place at the Laban Building, Deptford, SE8 3DZ. Trinity Laban has multiple locations so please note this does not take place at King Charles Court in Greenwich.
Accessibility: The Laban Building is full accessible, with disabled parking, access toilets and a lift.
Getting there:
By Train: Take the Southeastern or Thameslink train to Deptford Station. From Deptford Station, it’s about a 9-minute walk to the Laban Building. Head south on Deptford High Street, turn left onto Creekside, and you’ll find the building on your left.
By DLR: Take the DLR to Cutty Sark Station. From Cutty Sark, it’s about a 10-minute walk. Head west on Creek Road, turn right onto Creekside, and the building will be on your right.
By Bus: You can take bus numbers 188, 199, or 47.
Get off at the Creekside (G) stop, which is a 3-minute walk from the Laban Building. Walk south on Creekside, and you’ll see the building on your left.
By car: there is onsite parking at the back of the building on Copperas Street. Please send your numberplate ahead of attending.
