Student Code of Conduct
Trinity Laban is a vibrant, creative community where students, staff, and visitors collaborate in an environment of respect, professionalism, and artistic excellence. This Student Code of Conduct outlines the expectations of student behaviours, ensuring a supportive, progressive and inclusive environment for all.
Purpose
The purpose of this Code is to provide clarity regarding expected standards of student conduct and guidance on how breaches of conduct are managed.
Scope
This Code applies to all students enrolled at Trinity Laban in all settings, including academic, social, and online environments, both on and off-campus, as well as during placements, performances, and other external engagements.
Expected Standards of Behaviour
Students are expected to:
- Treat fellow students, staff, and the wider community with respect, dignity, and professionalism.
- Engage in learning and performance with integrity, honesty, and professionalism.
- Uphold our community’s commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion.
- Take responsibility for their actions.
- Adhere to all Trinity Laban policies, procedures, and health and safety regulations.
Respect for the Learning Environment
Students are expected to:
- Adhere to published attendance requirements
- Arrive on time for classes*, rehearsals, and performances.
- Respect shared spaces, equipment, and resources.
*This includes (but may not be limited to) lectures, seminars, tutorials, lab sessions, dance and instrumental tuition, and any other learning engagement (in-person or remote) as stipulated in Department and Programme Handbooks.
Respect for Others
Students are expected to:
- Avoid discriminatory, harassing, or bullying behaviour.
- Respect and embrace diverse perspectives and artistic practices.
Personal Responsibility
Students are expected to:
- Maintain academic integrity by avoiding plagiarism and other forms of misconduct.
- Use digital platforms responsibly and avoid inappropriate online behaviour.
Breaches of the Code
Breaches of this Code will be addressed in accordance with Chapter H.3 Student Disciplinary Procedure of the Academic Quality Handbook. Disciplinary actions may range from informal resolution to formal disciplinary proceedings, depending on the severity of the breach.
